Welcome to Merseyside RoADAR Motorcycle Group

This is a relatively new group, we have now been running for two years, formed by a collection of advanced motorcyclists, advanced instructors and Rospa Diploma holders, we have come together to form this new RoADAR (RoSPA Advanced Drivers And Riders) group.

We are pleased to say that in the short time we have been in existance, this group has gone from strength to strength. The group became the best performing dedicated motorcyle group in the UK, at the recent RoADAR Group Awards 2011. We see this as a great vote of confidence, and is some thing that comes from the dedicated work of all the groups members.

Our idea was to fill a need for a group in the Merseyside area. Our aim is to promote advanced motorcycling, by providing advanced training and skills development. At the end of the training a test will be undertaken and a graded result achieved that will be recognised widely.

The video above gives you some idea of what is involved when you join one of the advanced courses run each year.

What benefits could you expect from joining the group and undertaking training and testing? These would include the following:

Up to 20% reduction in risk of having an accident

Reduction in your insurance premiums

Less stress whilst riding

Improved fuel consumption

Less wear and tear on your bike

We are happy as a group to see the riders who have come on the courses, develop their skills and hopefully enjoy their biking more. We have had a pleasing number of test passes from courses, and some of the first students have now continued training with the group and joined the tutoring team.

As well as the serious side of the group, we also have developed the social side to the group, with regular ride-outs, meetings and other events,

have a look at the galleries pages for examples of some of these events. This is because above all else we are motorcyclists ourselves, and we ride bikes for fun.

Monthly Meetings - Last Thursday of the month 7:30pm @ The Kicking Donkey
